Crime Solvers

Starring:
Detective Skittles the Unicorn
Detective Bob the Narwhal
and Criminal Bad Guy the Otter

It all started when Skittles and Bob were kids. They were watching a detective movie on how to solve crimes and eating some popcorn. The movie was great, but the popcorn was marvelous! They loved them both so much that when they grew up they became popcorn eating detectives.

Just the other day, Criminal Bad Guy stole popcorn from the movie theater that Detective Skittles and Detective Bob loved to go to. Skittles and Bob were so mad that they HAD to find out who did it. So they were off.

They found some footprints, and they looked like paws. They followed them and they led to a river. They were confused. Bob went in to try and find him. Meanwhile, Bad Guy was in his den hiding the popcorn.

After about an hour, Bob came back from the river with nothing. Just then, Detective Skittles spotted an old beaver's den. They ran toward it. When they got there, there was nothing but an empty popcorn bucket. They were too late.

Skittles floated home to his rainbow as the sky turned gray from his sadness. A few hours later Skittles came back down to the water for a drink when he saw Bob swimming up to him.

Bob said, "There's nothing to worry about. As long as we're still friends, everything is going to be alright."

"I guess your right," Skittles said. "All my life I never let a criminal get away, but I guess this time I have to."

"Come on Skittles, let's go get some popcorn."

And in the end, everyone had a happy ever after.

The Deadly Dog

Note: this is a Non-Ficton story
THE DEADLY DOG /1

One day I was riding my dad’s skateboard around my neighborhood.  As I was passing a house that had a black camper, I got a weird feeling.

“Creepy,” I said, but it really wasn’t that creepy.

As I was passing it, there was a little dog just barking.

“All dogs bark,” I said to myself. I didn’t notice the open gate…

When I was done skateboarding, my legs were a little tired so I decided to walk home.

So when I passed that house again I saw the same dog barking but this time something different happened then before…

The dog ran out of the open gate and stopped right in front of me!

I froze with fear he kept growling at me. I felt like a mouse going up against a cat and I was the mouse! I dropped the skateboard and ran. I screamed like a weasel getting chased by a monkey. I was terrified.

And when I went back to see if he was gone, he was gone.  I peeked behind the house…

And there he was! Barking at someone else! I grabbed the skateboard and ran as fast as my weak legs and frightened body could carry me!  I ran straight home.

And if you’re wondering how does that make him deadly well let me tell you another story about my big brother and his experience with the deadly dog on the next page.

THE DEADLY DOG/2

One sunny day, my brother Noah went the store right by are house on his bike.  And the dog ran out at him and he road as fast as possible to get away. And the dog caught up and was up by his pedal.  He tried to kick the dog to get him to go away.  And he did.  So you think he’s deadly now?

And that’s the deadly dog

Hello!

So - for anyone in blog world who reads blogs of people they don't know - this is a blog of the stories my daughter Lydia writes. Mostly "fickshin", but there's a smattering of everything. She's a blossoming writer and sharing them with the world. I have corrected the spelling on some of her words to help you read them, but everything here is hers, and I will add her accompanying artwork if she made any. I hope they brighten your day as they do mine! I will try and leave my words in the comments instead of in the post, so you can enjoy the stories of a 7 year old without mom's opinion tainting it.
Enjoy!
